Financial Regulations Reporting Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Regulations Reporting Analyst who has the passion and determination to make an impact in our Finance Team. This new role will support the reporting team on the automation of reporting and manage data analysis information requests from the FIA and other third parties. The role will be a subject matter expert on the FIA Financial Regulations, optimisation, training team members and dealing with query resolution. 

 

The Role

As our Financial Regulations Reporting Analyst your responsibilities will include:

 

Financial Regulation Position Reporting

  • Develop an in-depth understanding and expertise of interpreting opex and capex costs treatment & within the Financial Regulations and applying them from Statutory Reporting positions.

  • Produce detailed reporting to provide visibility of Financial and Operational performance to the business. (Actuals, budgets, forecasts).

  • Liaise and align Financial Regulation Position with FIA Regulations Specialist.

  • Determine, manage and assess required Regulations based data adjustments based on Statutory Reporting positions.

  • Management and amalgamation of key supporting data for Financial Regulation submission.

  • Develop close collaborative working relationships across Finance particularly with Finance Business Partners to understand the detailed statutory financial position and treatment of costs from a Financial Regulation perspective.

Financial planning & analysis

  • Conduct periodic cost forecasts and plans of the team’s annual Financial Regulation position keeping track of changes and movements in a dynamic environment.

  • Develop a close understanding of the effects of statutory accounts treatment on forecasts and plans.

  • Determine, manage and assess required Regulations based forecast and plan data adjustments based on Statutory Reporting positions.

  • Develop an intimate understanding of forecast to actuals and forecast to forecast financial movements.

  • Ensure clear and regular communication of the Financial Regulation forecast and plan positions across the Team.

Ensure all financial reporting to the business is aligned and consistent across the Finance Department, including full data integrity 

  • Ensure consistency across business reporting, and alignment of deployment methods with Finance Business Partners.

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across the various reporting mechanisms and source systems.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with Finance Business Partners and bring to the Financial Regulations team a deep understanding of cost centre level data.

  • Feedback to relevant originator on data quality / integrity issues. Address issues via self-service where possible.

Support in Financial Regulation training programme

  • Development of Financial Regulations training content and delivery of training to Operational areas as subject matter expert to the business.

  • Work with Heads of Departments to develop a tailored and specific training programme that educates departmental teams on the applicable Financial Regulations relevant to their departments.

  • Support the wider Financial Regulations team in the delivery of the training programme.

  • Excellent communicator and experienced at presenting to non-financial audiences.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Financial qualified professional, previous SAP experience or within similar role would be advantageous

  • Experience of financial modelling with a strong commercial acumen. (Strong attention to detail)

  • Top 10 trained and with FP&A experience would be desirable

  • Experience of analysing and interpreting large volumes of financial data

  • Data expert with an excellent ability to relate the bigger picture to source details and underlying physical drivers

  • Enthusiastic and curious individual, keen to learn new aspects & turn them into an expertise

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast moving, performance-oriented environment and to be agile and flexible in approach

  • Excellent at developing and establishing working relationships with different levels within the organisation.

  • Supportive and collaborative but objective and not afraid to raise well-balanced challenges

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
