This close connection to the end rider has given us the ability to reduce the feedback loop and rapidly innovate and enhance our gear at a rate never seen before in the Global helmet industry.

We control our destiny; we manage everything end-to-end to deliver our promise to customers and fulfil the potential of the Ruroc brand. We are building world-class teams across the board, and we have recently invested in our own Ruroc Factory to keep up with our ever-snowballing demand.

We are now looking for a Facilities Operative to join our team on a part-time basis to support the core business needs at our Barnwood HQ. You will do this by supplying general maintenance works to a high standard, ensuring that we maintain a secure and well-functioning working environment.

You will be a crucial part of the team, being responsible for the maintenance operations that make our HQ tick; allowing employees and visitors to make the most out of our facilities. You will be responsible for checking devices, vehicles, structures and systems (e.g. fire alarms and air-conditioners) on a regular basis and identifying needs for repairs and renovations.

To be successful in this role, you will be well organised and able to prioritise multiple issues in a logical and practical manner as to ensure maximum productivity. You will have a good knowledge of basic maintenance and DIY skills, as well as being confident with undertaking physical tasks within Health and Safety guidelines.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Complete routine building facilities checklist walkarounds; inspecting and identifying fixtures, equipment, vehicles, and machines in need of maintenance and repair.
  • Scheduled checks and maintenance of coffee and water machines, fire extinguishers, fire alarms and lighting, gas canisters and door release mechanisms.
  • Carry out minor repairs such as furniture and equipment, plumbing repairs, including unblocking sinks, toilets and drains when necessary and minor electrical repairs, i.e. fuses, light bulbs and damaged sockets.
  • Schedule maintenance and repairs with external contractors where this cannot be completed in-house.
  • Escorting external contractors throughout the site and answering any enquiries that they may have and assisting where necessary.
  • Order supplies and materials required to general repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform ground inspection and maintenance for example, sweeping, weeding, cutting back hedges and boundaries and gritting.
  • Completing decorating and upkeep of décor as and when required.
  • Troubleshoot reported issues with facilities and machinery to determine the necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that meeting rooms are presentable and prepared for meetings where necessary.
  • Health and Safety equipment checks for example, first aid supplies are adequately stocked, and reporting books are available.
  • Liaise with external cleaners to flag any issues identified and report any feedback.
  • Inspection and troubleshooting problems and issues reported by clients or colleagues.
  • Complete documentation and other paperwork timely and accurately so that service requests can be appropriately documented and tracked.

Requirements

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU:

  • Have a good working knowledge of DIY skills and ground maintenance.
  • You have a valid UK Driving License.
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a conscientious manner.
  • Are able to use hand and power tools confidently.
  • Have experience working with a maintenance schedule.
  • Are confident working at height and performing strenuous tasks.
  • Understand Health and Safety requirements and how this may impact your role.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with all levels throughout the business.
  • Have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Have an intermediate level of numeric and literacy skills.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Previous experience within a maintenance role is preferred but not essential as training can be given for someone with transferrable skills.
  • A valid Health and Safety certificate would be beneficial but isn’t essential as we can put you through training.
