Purpose of Role

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company", we are looking for a Control Software Engineer to join our team.

Principal Accountabilities

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, the Control Software Engineer will work on:

  • Aspects to define, design and deliver control functions including requirements, interfaces and algorithms.
  • Implementing control functions in MATLAB Simulink/Stateflow
  • C-code generation and analysis
  • Conduct SW components testing using MIL and SIL techniques
  • Testing SW components within the system on the HIL
  • SW components verification & validation against requirements
  • Working cross-functionally to deliver software components

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Degree level education in a relevant Engineering discipline - mechanical, electronic, automotive etc.
  • Model-based, auto-coded software prototyping and production implementation
  • Support vehicle software testing and calibration
  • Good control theory background
  • Good knowledge of Automotive Software across chassis system, hybrid supervisor, body systems, power management, transmission controls or HVAC applications
  • Good knowledge of the above system(s) at System Architecture Level
  • Software requirements capture and detailed software design into specifications
  • Model-based control software development and verification
  • AUTOSAR software components generation and integration
  • Verification testing in MIL, SIL and HIL environments, and in-vehicle integration
  • Compliance to industry standards such as ISO26262 and ASPICE
  • Demonstrative experience in the automotive sector
