Electrician, Sea Freight and Infrastructure

Purpose of the Role:

Support all functions of the Race Team and Sea Freight Operations, implement the trackside electrical installations / de-rigs. Maintain all associated ancillary items both at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.

Participate in the maintenance of racing equipment and car parts whilst ensuring compliance is adhered to. Occasional support to other operational areas of the business during high load periods.

The role may consist of unsociable hours often at short notice during high load periods and will involve time away from home and extensive travel; as such the “Specialist”, should show flexibility in their approach.

 

Role Dimensions:

  • Reporting to Head of, and Team Leaders of Sea freight and Infrastructure.
  • Race Team, Sea Freight Efficiency Programme.
  • Race Team. Electrician and its Supporting functions.
  • Hours to be worked, as and when required.
  • Travel will be essential.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Build of garage electrical equipment and installations (single and 3 phase systems)
  • Maintenance and repair of garage electrical equipment and installations
  • Input to the electrical design of new specialised equipment projects
  • Build and maintenance of NEW pit equipment
  • Document garage electrical installations and schematics
  • The build, presentation, and function of the garage
  • Participate in freight preparation at track and at MTC when core tasks are complete
  • Support the turnaround of sets of sea freight equipment and its movements. In doing so will require a level of mechanical / electrical / IT aptitude, showing a high level of attention to detail.
  • Aid in core race team freight movements as and when required.
  • Maintain and operate to the required health and safety standards.
  • Ensure all loads meet the correct content and compliance for shipment.
