The Damper Technician is responsible for building, testing and maintaining dampers for Penske Racing programs inclusive of Sports Car. The Damper Technician will travel with the race team to race and testing events to provide general damper support for the race team. Support of the race team will include data analysis, testing and preparation of items for testing, and documentation of results.
Responsibilities:
- Build dampers for race and test events
- Dynamometer testing of dampers for race, test and 7post events
- Maintain electronic and paper records
- Provide general damper support for the race team
- Support includes, but is not limited to:
- Data analysis
- Testing and preparation of items for testing
- Documentation of results
Requirements:
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools
- MATLAB experience preferred
- Mechanical skills
- Organized and process orientated
- Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics
- Experience with various brands and types of dampers
