Purpose of Role

The Continuous Improvement, Process & Analysis Team are central to the business’ ability to evolve and improve. Working both across Product Development business areas and cross-functionally, they proactively seek opportunities for improvement.

The Continuous Improvement Analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to engineering and project management systems, processes and procedures that are robust, effective, well-communicated and trained to help the business achieve it’s long-term business plan and vision to be ‘The Iconic Sports Car Company’.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Hold CI requirement gathering workshops to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Lead Continuous Improvement projects, following MPM methodology and the IT demand process to ensure that maximum efficiency is achieved. Act as liaison between the business and IT Centre of Excellence ensuring continuous improvement projects are on track.
  3. Specify and develop the right solutions to meet stakeholder requirements, always working closely with the customer and development teams. Define and execute a robust test plan for changes. Ensure that handover is performed with training and support as required.
  4. Support with the onboarding process of new starters, ensuring the correct user profile is applied and appropriate training is assigned.
  5. Support with creation and maintenance of Product Development training, ensuring that courses remain accurate, consistent and easy to use.
  6. Develop relationships and communication channels within the business to facilitate the effective distribution of information and feedback from employees.
  7. Actively engage with CI leads in other business areas ensuring improvements are captured and any impacts in Product Development are understood. Support continuous improvement projects in other business areas as a PD stakeholder.
  8. Capture process updates in relevant McLaren Procedure Libraries, ensuring the business has the most up to date standards and process information.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Business Knowledge

  • Understanding of Product Development processes and tools.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the Automotive industry (including Automotive suppliers of complex systems).

Essential Functional / Technical Skills

  • STEM Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Advanced level of the Microsoft suite is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of business analysis – eliciting and documenting requirements, use case and process modelling.
  • Data modelling skills - ability to develop and translate objectives into numeric and measurable indicators.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and technical problem resolution.
