We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team. This role is key in supporting the Commercial Finance team on their journey to becoming a World Class Finance function; challenging existing processes and embracing new technologies that deliver automation and efficiency. The role will play an important role in supporting the Applied Science division in achieving its business objectives.
The primary objective of the Applied Science division is to support MBGP’s aspiration to win Formula 1 World Championships, whilst delivering gross margins that will underpin the company’s profitability target. The Applied Science division brings together high-performance, high-technology engineering and elite sporting challenge.
The role
As a Commercial Finance Analyst for the Applied Science division, you will contribute to the achievement of the company’s’ business objectives and the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation by:

Assisting in the production of the monthly management accounts, with monthly reconciliations of our key income streams and associated cost of sales, thereby ensuring adequate controls are implemented to ensure completeness and accuracy of our accounts to a very high standard.

Supporting the Commercial Finance team in the production of the monthly financial performance pack, in a timely and accurate manner, for the executive management team. Focusing on improving the use of system functionality to deliver dynamic and eventually real time reporting.

To provide detailed financial analysis and evaluations to support commercial decision making with solution orientated insight, for future Applied Science projects.

To support the Commercial Finance team in tracking financial performance on specific projects at a gross margin level, as well as ad hoc business analyst requests.

To maintain and develop strong business partnering relationships with the operational and commercial areas of the business. Encouraging strong collaboration and innovative thinking to drive new business ideas.

To support the development of new processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of all financial processes, whilst maintaining or improving high standards of governance.

Understanding data sources and exploring new opportunities for innovation and automation of business reporting and analysis. Whilst ensuring data integrity and consistency across the various reporting mechanisms and source systems. Your objective should be to leverage technology to enhance the team’s ability to focus on value adding tasks to drive financial performance.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for either a candidate educated to a degree level and studying ACCA/ CIMA. You will need to be analytical and solution orientated and have demonstrable previous experience, working both independently and within a highly collaborative team. An enthusiastic individual and effective communicator keen to build internal and external relationships.
You will have the ability to adapt, look ahead and embrace a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is a must. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and previous SAP experience would be an advantage.
