Circuit Officer (Equipment) Job Description

Department: Sporting

Direct Supervisor: Director - Sporting

Status: Contract (full time hours, Feb – June 2023)

Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Circuit Manager and Sporting Director, the role of the Circuit Officer is to assist in the preparation of the circuit as well as planning storage, deployment and maintenance of equipment required by all trackside sporting personnel for successful delivery of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Procurement Coordinator, Circuit Manager, Marshals Coordinator, USRM and other stakeholders to determine equipment, PPE and resources required for circuit and trackside personnel, USRM and relevant contractors to perform their roles  
  • Coordinate the planning, storage, deployment and maintenance of equipment required by all trackside personnel including:
    • Marshals / marshals posts
    • Safety teams
    • Fire marshals
    • Medical teams
    • Lift operators
    • Tow truck operators
    • Track maintenance teams   
  • Ensure all equipment and PPE is in a good working and operational condition
  • Coordinate deployment of all marshals equipment and facilities deployment prior to the event, including workforce / labor required during deployment / collection process  
  • Work with Circuit Manager and Track Maintenance Supervisor on deployment and maintenance of circuit equipment and supplies
  • Assist the Circuit Manager in preparation of circuit infrastructure and equipment as required, including marshals post facilities, barrier movements and safety installations 
  • Coordinate production and deployment / distribution of Sporting signage as required by FIA and Formula 1 regulations and guidelines
  • Coordinate preparation of vehicles to be utilized by sporting, circuit, track maintenance, safety and trackside personnel during the event, including liveries / signage, lights, fueling, maintenance, storage and deployment (with the assistance of the Race Operations Coordinator – Vehicles and Radios) in the lead-up to the event

Qualifications:

  • Work experience in a similar environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic mechanical and general maintenance skills
  • Forklift or telehandler certification to be required
  • Office and computer literate
  • Maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Able to work to tight timelines and set schedules
  • Able to work long hours and weekends
  • A punctual, self-motivated, team player
  • Good communication skills with colleagues, clients and guests
