Chassis Mechanic
Grove Racing competes in the Australian Supercars Championship and we have an opportunity for someone to join our team as a Chassis Mechanic.
You will be primarily based at our factory in Braeside, Victoria and will be required to travel to all Supercars events and test days. You will work collaboratively within the team and be responsible for preparing, maintaining and operating one of our Penrite Racing Supercars both at the factory and at race events. The ideal candidate will have an unwavering determination to win and be a team player.
This role will be responsible for:
- Traveling to all Supercar events, test days and corporate ride days.
- Performing pit crew related tasks at track events.
- Communicating with other technicians, engineers, drivers and management to build & service race cars.
- Ensure efficient, accurate and on time preparation of race cars. Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, including presentation, and all vehicle components comply with the relevant technical regulations.
- Manage the car specific equipment & tools. Ensure equipment/tools are maintained in a clean, organised and working state.
- Assist in loading & unloading of the transporter both at the workshop and events. Ensuring that all required equipment, spare parts and car options are present for each event.
- Assist in continuous improvement in all mechanical & engineering areas of the team including car preparation & presentation, pit stops, and car performance.
- Assist in keeping the workshop organised, clean & functional.
Requirements, skills and attributes:
- Motorsport experience preferred but not essential
- Automotive mechanical experience and knowledge of mechanical components of a car
- Good communication skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft office programs
- Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines
- Operate in a positive & professional manner and support your colleagues
