Studio 397 is looking for a C++ programmer to join our team developing rFactor2. You will be at the heart of the development process working to improve our custom C++ engine. As such you will need a solid understanding of threading and memory models as well as experience developing games or other real-time simulations. This role will also require you to implement multiplayer features so familiarity with TCP and UDP protocols would be beneficial.

Studio 397 is a subsidiary of Motorsport Games and developer of rFactor 2. We are a close-knit team, passionate about creating the most accurate motorsport simulation possible.

Our team works remotely and is predominantly based in the EU.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build gameplay systems including track rules, new game modes and content handling, etc.
  • Create savvy implementations in modern C++.
  • Create test plans to ensure the code is robust.
  • Contribute to the technical vision for the game.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional C++ experience.
  • At least 1 shipped AA/AAA title.
  • Robust understanding of 3D maths.
  • Understanding of TCP / UDP networking.
  • GIT and LFS.
  • Win32 Programming.
  • A love for problem-solving and taking on technical challenges.
  • Proactively work to resolve problems before they become blockers.
  • Bonus: Interest in motorsports or sim racing.
