Build Systems Assembly Technician

At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

The role:

As our Build System Assembly Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for building & servicing of safety-critical car assemblies and systems ensuring that all of the procedures and quality checks are followed.

  • Key assemblies include Uprights & Carbon Suspension, Driver controls, Hydraulic Ride Systems, Cooling Systems, Hydraulic & Fuel manifolds, Steering and Gearbox Sub-Assemblies.

  • Carry out other similar skilled duties.

  • Ensuring builds are to latest specification.

  • Use SAP to create build sheets and ensure assembled components have enough available mileage to complete the planned event.

  • Manage, in conjunction with other team members, spares, lifting and servicing of car parts.

  • Assist with Applied Science customer projects.

  • Responsible for keeping a clean and tidy working environment in all areas within Mercedes GP Operations Centre.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in F1 required.

  • Good knowledge of quality systems.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • SAP experience.

  • Flexibility in hours and a can-do approach is required, along with the ability to work in a team, under high pressure and to strict deadlines with minimum supervision.
