Job Location

  • USA – TX – Dallas (Hybrid Work – On-Site and Remote).

    • This position requires frequent travel to and from customer and company sites to diagnose and repair vehicles.

General Role Overview

The Automotive Technician, Mobile Service is a Fisker brand ambassador in the field and is responsible for providing the best-in-class service of our electric vehicles.  This position requires an experienced service professional with a solid background and hands-on experience in EV maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for and a deep understanding of the latest EV and OTA technology.  The candidate must exhibit a can-do attitude to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment within the Aftersales teams to fix it right the first time and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Vehicle Diagnostics, “Fix Right The First Time” Repairs, and Manual & Over-The-Air (OTA) Software Updates at the customer’s site.

  • Perform Mobile Service operations by ensuring proper remote diagnostics with any required parts are completed prior to customer visits.

  • Interact with the customers to confirm service visits, explain planned and completed service activities with associated charges, obtain work agreements, perform and document walk-around and safety inspections, inform required maintenance, etc.

  • Avoid repeat repairs and buyback cases by following correct service procedures to maintain high customer satisfaction.

  • Promptly identify and report complex technical issues in the field.

  • Successfully complete required trainings to maintain Mobile Service Technician qualification.

  • Support local Fisker service center as well as our third-party service providers according to business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an EV Service Technician role with hands-on working experience using diagnostic tools and network protocols (e.g., ECU troubleshooting on CAN / LIN / LVDS, etc.).

  • Completion of an Associate’s Degree, Trade School, or Vocational School curriculum is preferred.  High School Diploma will be considered if paired with appropriate work experience.

  • ASE Certifications in multiple automotive areas are required.  ASE Master Certified Technician or equivalent is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • In-depth expertise in automotive service core processes, customer handling operations, brand standards, and a solid repairability technical understanding.

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems and technical concepts related to Powertrain, Electronics, Chassis, Thermal systems, etc.

  • Hands-on working experience with High Voltage (HV) systems.  Live HV System Certification is a plus.

  • Hands-on working experience using hand-tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other workshop equipment.

  • Outstanding technical problem-solving ability with proven customer interfacing experience is required.  Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with strong customer service orientation: This role will constantly be communicating concerns, changes, processes, and explanations across a wide spectrum of stakeholders and users.

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills to work with internal and external partners at all levels within the organization and to represent Fisker in a professional manner.

  • Anticipates evolving customer needs and how to address them, doing the right thing in the right way.

  • Effective in handling multiple priorities, organizing workload, and meeting deadlines.

  • High competency in a high-pressure environment, with the ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and drive accountability.

  • Willingness to take ownership of jobs and work independently beyond assigned position to successfully complete projects from initiation to completion.

  • Independent self-starter with a sense of urgency, able to work without direct supervision.

  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.

  • Punctual and reliable.

  • Eager to learn new technologies.

  • Must have a safe driving record.

  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills.  Additional language skills (i.e. Spanish, German, etc.) are a plus.

  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, using email, accessing the Internet and social media, navigating internal software, and managing files.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.

  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

Expected Salary Range

$19.59 to $54.56 per hour.

Additional Compensation

Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.  Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
