SIMULATOR DEVELOPER
The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team are joining forces with INEOS TEAM UK, as the Challenger of Record for the 37th America’s Cup competition. This project brings together two highly complementary spheres of high-performance, high-technology engineering and sporting challenge. To strengthen our team, we are looking for additional engineers with a background in top-level competitive engineering such as Formula One, America’s Cup or equivalent to join our technical group, based at Brackley.
The Simulator Developer role requires individuals to create, develop and maintain the human-in-the-loop simulator facility, one of the primary interfaces between the performance team and the sailing team.
The Role
As our Simulator Developer, your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining the simulator in an operational state and ensuring its currency with the current simulation & on-yacht application sets.

Developing and executing a programme for aligning the simulator fully with the offline simulation toolset.

Developing testing methodology to allow sailing team learnings to be fed back into the simulation suite development.

Organising and supervising testing sessions to support Performance, Design and Fluids groups.
What we are looking for:

Strong academic engineering/mathematical background

Experience with one or more of the following: HIL real-time simulation; Game physics development; Simulation graphics and VR

Experience in creating code in one or more programming or scripting languages.

Appreciation of physics, mechanics, and coding such behaviours.

Excellent analytical skills and ability to process and infer conclusions from simulator data and communicate this with sailing group users

Ability to work effectively in small, focused teams towards tight deadlines

Highly motivated and organised self-starter with excellent communication skills
