Quality Control NDT Technician

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an NDT Technician to join our team here at Williams. As an NDT Technician you will travel to race events and working in the factory completing routine and complex NDT tasks using a variety of techniques. NDT Inspection requirements will be defined by the Engineering drawings, whilst you will use your expertise to perform the tasks accurately and efficiently. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of components, manufactured in a variety of materials, such as carbon-fibre composites, metals and plastics. Accurate data collation will be essential in determining a confident and meaningful conclusion to part quality and conformance.

 

Skills you'll use every day:

NDT methods and tools, such as Magnetic Particle Inspection, Ultrasonic Inspection, Magnetic Particle inspection, Dye Penetrants, Eddy current inspection and CT radiography. The ability to communicate with designers and a good aptitude for report writing and cross communication skills. An appreciation for 5s’s in your working environment, to create a suitable and sustainable working environment.

 

Education and experience:

  • Ideally you need an NDT Technician certified to LEVEL 2 AEROSPACE Standard, this can be PCN, ASNT, EN4179 in:

Ultrasonic Inspection– must have

CT Radiography

Eddy Current Inspection

Dye Penetrant Inspection

Magnetic Particle Inspection

  • Should be familiar with Phased Array UT (PAUT) in composites (CFRPC)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in each method. 

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and be prepared to train up in other methods.

  • You should ideally also be apprentice trained with ONC/HNC qualification and a good knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. You will possess a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in a similar environment

 

Please note this is for the following shift: 4 days on/4 days off, with flexibility for trackside support
