Head of Vehicle Performance - ENG09

Envision Racing is a UK based Formula E Team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship and
wants to hire a qualified and experienced Head of Vehicle Performance to be employed full time. This is
an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in this challenging yet highly rewarding role, operating
at a managerial level.

Head of Vehicle Performance – Formula E Team

  • Reporting to the Technical Director, this role will have responsibility to develop the vehicle dynamics understanding and software tools, and guide the Performance Engineering group.
  • Improve car performance in the areas of suspension, brakes, tyres and controls.
  • Attend simulator sessions and tracks tests, and the Remote Operations Room during race events.
  • Lead offline simulations, and analysis tool and model development.
  • The successful candidate would be expected to contribute heavily to the development of racing best practices and procedural workflows for all engineering activities to maximum performance.

Key skillset requirements are:

  • A highly detail orientated but adaptable candidate, experienced with accurately analysing data and inputs from the engineers and drivers, to decide on the vehicle optimisation direction.
  • Excellent and demonstrable engineering ability with at least 5 years relevant experience in vehicle dynamics or performance engineering at the highest levels of motorsport.
  • In depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and interaction with electric powertrain control systems.
  • Outstanding problem solving, mathematical and data science skills.
  • Vehicle performance development and testing experience.
  • Perfect planning, communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable management ability to lead a small group of engineers.
  • Excellent inter-personal and reporting skills to clearly circulate engineering information

This position is based at Silverstone in our purpose-built workshop with free onsite parking and surrounded
by forests and with an onsite gym to unwind during breaks. The role will require some international travel
and long flexible hours. The position will offer a competitive salary package, plus bonus potential, 25 days
