Job Title: Facility Technician
Department: Operations
Reports to: VP of Operations
SUMMARY
The Facility Technician is a full-time employee in the Operations Department who utilizes various general carpentry skills to repair and maintain BMS/BD. This position will perform a variety of tasks based on facility and event needs. During non-event times the Facility Technician will complete various projects and maintenance relative to the following functions and responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL PREFERENCES:
- Carpentry, building maintenance, repair, and overhaul
- Consistent can-do, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Able to operate forklift and aerial lift as needed
- Ability to operate handheld power tools
- Able to lift at least 30 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Able to climb on ladders and scaffolding as needed
- Must be able to work various major event evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
NON-EVENT TIME:
- Perform various types of carpentry related building maintenance and repairs
- Maintain and repair door closures, locks and keys
- Ensure proper storage of all tools and equipment not currently in use to protect and prolong lifecycles
- Operate and maintain equipment (such as power tools, etc.)
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall excellence of the organization
EVENT TIME:
Functions for major events include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all areas of facility are guest ready
- Perform operational needs on suite level throughout event
- Nightly track painting with Ops team to ensure premium viewing of sponsor logos
- Assist in ice rink and light show installation and removal
HOURS OF WORK
NON-EVENT TIME
- Normal Business hours are typically 8 hours a day, Monday – Friday. Some weekends and evenings will be necessary based on business needs.
EVENT TIME
- Business hours during race time may increase up to 14 or more hours a day, Monday – Friday with weekend requirements. FT staff must be present through the end of major events.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Travel to other Speedway Motorsports tracks will likely be necessary. It is not anticipated that this would exceed 10% of the time.
