F1 TECHNICAL AUDITORS

The FIA is looking to expand its F1 Technical Auditing team as this activity has grown to become key area of the FIA’s responsibility. We are looking for experienced individuals, who possess a strong professional background in motor sport engineering and willing to travel extensively.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Technical Auditors will both help to specify and receive complex and detailed reporting data from F1 Power Unit Manufacturers and the Teams they supply which must be audited and validated against the Regulations and guidance issued by the FIA.
- This process will include analysis, inspection, and liaison activities, visiting technology facilities and occasionally Race and Test events.
- Development of the reporting and analysis process and the tools that are used, as the Regulations evolve will be essential as will a detailed understanding of the Regulations and engineering practices of Formula One.

PROFILE:

- Mechanical, aeronautical or other engineering degree or equivalent experience
- 10-15 year career history in motorsport and/or automotive or aeronautical engineering with a research and development, operational, or design background including work on (for example) Formula One Power Unit or Chassis or similar high-level engineering role
- Candidates must be skilled at handling and processing data both in conventional tools and with ability to develop further software methods for databasing and interrogating and visualising data
- Use of data analysis software tools, knowledge of general purpose languages such as Matlab, Python, SQL, knowledge of CAD may be advantageous
