General Summary:

This position reports to the Head of Control Systems or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the ongoing development of Hardware and Software based tools to support the analysis of our SECU based dataset.  Provide support for the general development and maintenance of toolsets and assist in the performance analyses of data.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Asist with the development of our trackside data analysis toolset.
  • Contribute to the improvement of methodologies and processes within the Controls Group to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality tools and analyses.
  • Provide periodic support from our Race Support Room aiding the trackside engineers in extracting of the maximum performance from our race cars.
  • Assist with the development of Hardware in the Loop models and test solutions for our SECU based embedded software.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Control Systems or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Further education including University Degree desired. 5 years of work experience, 2 of which must be in a professional motorsports environment or other industry.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in the use of Matlab/Simulink to develop complex models for embedded systems and simulation.
  • Communication, ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, time management, conflict resolution, adaptability, willingness to learn, etc.
  • Capable of working in a team environment to a very high standard and a positive work attitude.

  

Equipment and Applications:

  • Knowledge of F1 SECU software architecture, tools and data analysis.
  • Competence in a high level computer programming languages such as C#, Python and Visual Basic highly desirable.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some, occasional international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
