Job Location

General Role Overview

The Attribute Expert, NVH is a key position within the Vehicle Engineering organization and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Vehicle Attributes.

The Attribute Expert will be responsible for system level and complete vehicle NVH strategy and development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the complete vehicle NVH Attribute, setting competitive targets and establishing test and analysis methodologies, both at the component level and vehicle level.

  • Work with other departments (e.g., Design, Chassis, Body, Exteriors, Interiors, Electrical) to review targets and guide design changes to optimize NVH performance.

  • Perform testing to assess and improve NVH performance, both at the component level and vehicle level.

  • Present data and decision trade-offs in technical reviews and upper management meetings.

  • Deliver class leading NVH performance while balancing critical cost and mass targets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.  Master of Science is preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive product development, with a focus on NVH strategy and development.  EV experience is a plus.

  • Proven track record of defining, managing, and delivering system and vehicle level targets on multiple programs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of NVH, including the ability to influence design with a data driven approach.

  • Working knowledge of NVH test, measurement, and evaluation methodologies (e.g., leakage testing, transfer path analysis, absorption coefficient, sound transmission loss testing, etc.).

  • Proven ability to define, manage, and deliver system and vehicle level NVH attribute targets.

  • Experience with competitor vehicle benchmarking (physical and web-based).

  • Experience with interpreting customer quality data (e.g., JD Power, etc.).

  • Familiarity with the premium automotive sector, preferably with EV products and features.

  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, team player, and problem solver.

  • Must be assertive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal direction.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
