Job Title: Simulator Development & Test Engineer
Reports To: Lead Engineer – Simulator Operations

We are looking for someone to really help deliver improvements on track by joining our Simulator Operations team as a Simulator Development & Test Engineer.
As the Simulator Development & Test Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and maximizing the contribution of our DiL Simulator engineering program. You will manage and operate the DiL simulator, along with its related systems, and contribute to the development of simulator-specific models to enhance car and driver performance.
The purpose of this role is:

To develop and maximise the contribution of the Driver-in-Loop (DiL) Simulator engineering programme to the performance of the cars and drivers at the race track.

To manage and operate the driver-in-loop simulator (DIL) and systems related to the DIL facility and DIL operations.

To contribute to the development of simulator specific models, (such as cueing, etc.)
You will contribute to the team’s success through your involvement in the following areas:

Design and experimentation: Designing of simulator experiments, interpretation of results, and subsequently providing direct input to car performance and driver development programs.

Model development: Develop DiL-specific models (such as cueing) using Simulink.

Testing and analysis: Prepare, run, analyse, and report on simulator tests, working closely with all stakeholders.

Continuous improvement: Identify key developments and resources needed to enhance the simulator program and environment quality.

Hardware & software management: Managing all hardware & software related to the DiL to ensure minimum wasted down time and consistent quality across all engineering sessions.

Collaboration: Contribute to the overall Vehicle Dynamics Department strategy and collaborating with the other team members to help maximise the overall effectiveness of the department.
Please note, there will be a need for you to support extend hours or weekend testing from time-to-time.
What we’re looking for:

A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience in Motorsport Vehicle Dynamics, Car Performance, or Race Engineering.

Proficiency in operating Driver-in-Loop simulators.

Experience with simulation and data analysis tools, particularly Simulink.

Excellent communication and reporting skills.

A collaborative attitude with strong teamworking abilities.

Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
