F1 is looking for a Senior Track Systems Technician to join their Track Systems team. This role involve the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of our Standard Communication System. This provides telemetry, onboard video and car data to clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To work with the team during an event to deploy, commission, and decommission radio frequency installations around Grand Prix circuits enabling a path for radio communication between on-car systems and receivers connected to trackside sites and deliver audio, video and data to appropriate clients.
- Competent working at heights up to 5m using climbing safety harness.
- Competent installation of fibre optic and electrical cables and electronic and RF equipment.
- Operation of light machinery and tools.
- Electrical and radio frequency wiring and termination.
- Inspection, testing and fault finding of optical, electrical and electronic systems including operation of necessary tools and measurement equipment including Optical Power Meters, Digital Multi Meters and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Operate bespoke software applications to Initiate, log and monitor race and test sessions from the Media and Technology Centre or from the Event Technical Centre.
- Competent analysis and fault finding of system data and results.
- Technical and mechanical maintenance and repair of fibre optic cable, radio frequency equipment, and tools.
- Rig and de-rig duties to include installation, commissioning and decommissioning of antenna at heights whilst conforming to existing control measures.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Provide guidance, advice, and feedback, acting as a mentor for Technicians.
- Systems installation planning and liaising with other departments.
- Maintain equipment lists and keep manifests updated.
About You
- Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), NVQ Level 4, Foundation Degree, Diploma of Higher Education, Vocational Qualification Level 5 (Engineering related field (Electronic, Electrical and RF Comms) and / or experience undertaking a similar practical role for 2 years)
- Experience in a manual role, i.e. installation or rigging
- Working in a busy and challenging environment to achieve specific objectives

- Working knowledge of MS Windows based applications / systems
- Basic knowledge of computer networks
- Comfortable working at heights
