We are looking for a Head of Aero Software to join us to lead the charge in building the software that powers our world-class Aerodynamics team. You'll work closely with aerodynamicists, CFD specialists, designers, and wind tunnel engineers to craft cutting-edge software solutions that accelerate car development and drive performance on the track.

The Aerodynamics Software Team is a dynamic group within our Software Development organization. We're building the next generation of software tools for aerodynamics design, CFD simulation, CAD automation, and wind tunnel operations. We work with a diverse technology stack, including:

Core development using C#, .NET, Python

Desktop UIs using WPF, MVVM

Duties and responsibilities:
-
Act as the bridge between the Aerodynamics group and the technology world, understanding their needs and incorporating them into a clear software roadmap.

Support the rapid delivery of Aerodynamics software projects, balanced alongside foundational technology projects and day-to-day team responsibilities.

Strategically and proactively manage a complex software estate, ensuring knowledge sharing and identifying opportunities to simplify and improve our processes.

Empower and lead a team of talented software developers, fostering a culture of autonomy and high performance.

Ensure the team has the right resources to support our world-class Aerodynamics function.

Foster collaboration with other tech teams at Williams Racing, including Software Development, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Enterprise Systems, and Architecture.

Guide the team to use the best tools for the job, balancing rapid delivery with innovative solutions.

Champion cloud-native development and lead cloud migration projects.

Uphold high standards for DevOps and development best practices.

Mentor and develop software engineers, helping them reach their full potential.
Skills and experience required:

The Williams Group is based in multi acre complex located in Grove, Oxfordshire.
