Business Development Executive

Role Overview:

As a key member of the business development team, the BDE plays a crucial role in researching potential sponsors, creating sales collateral and managing the department’s database.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Research and Database Management:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential sponsors, including industry trends, competitors, and market landscapes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sponsors and potential leads using company databases and CRM systems.
  • Regularly update and cleanse the database to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

2. Sponsor Prospect Identification:

  • Identify and evaluate potential sponsors based on their fit with the team’s proposition.
  • Analyse potential sponsor profiles, including business size, industry sector, and marketing objectives.

3. Creation of Sales Decks:

  • Create visually appealing and engaging sales decks to showcase MRUK offerings and benefits to potential sponsors.
  • Tailor sales decks according to the specific needs and interests of different sponsors, highlighting relevant case studies and success stories.

4. Outreach to Potential Sponsors:

  • Support the business development team in initiating contact with potential sponsors at times through email, phone calls, and networking events.
  • Help develop personalised and compelling messages to capture the interest of potential sponsors and secure meetings.

5. Management of Agency Relationships:

  • Work closely with external agencies to coordinate sponsor-related activities, ensuring effective communication and timely deliverables.
  • Foster strong relationships with agency partners to facilitate collaborative efforts and maximise sponsorship opportunities.



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Prior experience or internships in business development/sales will be an advantage.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create captivating sales decks and compelling messages.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and databases for recording and managing sponsorship leads.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of professionalism and confidence in engaging with potential sponsors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Whilst this is a factory-based role, there may be the opportunity to travel with the team occasionally.
