The Position:
We are seeking an ambitious Associate Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team, which is responsible for working within the data landscape at Williams. The team maintains a dynamic data strategy that adds value to the business while identifying opportunities for process improvement and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities and duties:

Collaborating on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Engaging with the Data & Analytics team to understand requirements and implement solutions to support business needs.

Developing and optimising data modelling, data processing, and data storage systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

Ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices.

Assisting in migrating data pipelines and data storage to the cloud and implementing cloud-based data solutions.

Creating and maintaining data pipeline documentation, including data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides.

Experimenting new solution using technologies and tools to enhance your data engineering capabilities.
Skills and experience required:

Previous proven experience of working in an enterprise IT environment with exposure to data functions.

Understanding of various data storage technologies, such as relational databases, NoSQL, and object storage technologies.

Ability to articulate an understanding of data lifecycle principles, such as ingestion, storage, transformation, and data serving.

Basic understanding of a programming language, such as Python, Java.

Creative mindset in problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data challenges and design solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
