Renault Sport Racing have an excellent opportunity to join our team at a tremendously exciting time in our history within Formula 1.  As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Aerodynamics division, as a Wind Tunnel Project Engineer. 

Wind Tunnel Project Engineer – The Role

The main responsibility of this role will be to enhance our wind tunnel operations. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside designers and aerodynamicists on the conception and delivery of upgrades to our wind tunnel control, model and data acquisition systems. You will be expected to ensure the smooth and reliable running of the wind tunnel through data analysis, fault diagnosis and systems calibration. The candidate will assist with major maintenance tasks as well as running the wind tunnel when it is required. This crucial position is demanding and pivotal to the team’s success on the track.

Wind Tunnel Project Engineer – The Person

The successful candidate must possess a wide range of technical and practical skills, ranging from to the calibration and development of sensitive electronics, an understanding of motion control systems and working with heavy equipment.  A good knowledge of MS Office is essential, with familiarity of programming languages, electronics/CAN networks, Matlab and Pi Diablo/Toolbox being beneficial.  A flexible approach to work will be necessary due to the shift pattern including nights, occasional weekends and on-call rota. Ideally looking for someone with experience in a similar role.
