Warehouse Inventory Clerk

Full Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced warehouse Inventory Clerk, who will report to the Warehouse Operations Manager as a valued member of the warehouse/fulfillment team. This role primarily involves processing inbound deliveries of products, components, and materials, which includes, inspecting, counting, verifying, putting away, and reporting.

Ideal candidates for this position will have current working knowledge of inventory software, or strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly and effectively, along with the ability to safely lift up to 70lb., stand and operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Successful candidates will be conscientious with the ability to consistently perform accurate mistake-free work as part of cohesive team.

Position Requirements

  • Physically receives all inbound shipments and inspects the deliveries to confirm acceptable condition, while verifying the information on the packing slip against the purchase orders, then receiving and logging the proper quantities and part numbers into the ERP system.
  • Regularly communicates and works with purchasing to resolve inventory discrepancies and delivery issues, including shortages, damage, or incorrect parts.
  • Understands and abides by the necessity to be accurate and diligent when receiving, accounting for, and putting away inbound products and materials.
  • Reports the status of incorrect or damaged received goods, documents and photographs damage and prepares unacceptable goods for return to vendors.
  • Puts away received products in a timely manner into correct bin locations and updates the information in the ERP to ensure that the status of received items is visible to team stakeholders.
  • Works with purchasing and production scheduling to issue materials, components, and hardware to support the production build requirements, and records adjustments to inventory.
  • Receives, identifies, inspects, and processes RMAs (customer returned merchandise), and records the disposition of the merchandise and notifies sales and accounting of each returned item’s status.
  • Responsible for accurate counting and reporting for all assigned inventory activities, as well as expedient processing of documentation to keep inventory records updated daily.
  • Organizes bin locations, creates, and maintains bin labels, and maintains bin part and quantity accuracy.
  • Conducts regular cycle counts on designated items with precision accuracy and reports discrepancies expediently and consistently.
  • Helps maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment and prepares work areas at end of the workday, so that work can resume efficiently the next day.
  • Must be certified and able to operate forklifts and all other warehouse equipment, safely and effectively.
  • Understand and comply with all company rules, policies and required operating regulations.
  • Ready, willing and able to perform other tasks as needed and as directed by the Warehouse Operations Manager, or other company management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a warehouse/inventory, or equivalent clerical role.
  • Computer experience accurately inputing data on a daily basis.
  • Ability to assess problem situations and make sound remedy decisions quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Dependable, conscientious and a consistent performer and team player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP data input, receiving, inspecting, counting stocking, cycle counts and processing returned merchandise.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and ERP inventory programs.
  • Current forklift operator certification.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent situations may also require lifting, lowering, carrying, pulling or pushing boxes and items up to 70lb. in weight.
  • Requires frequent use of a computer or calculator to input data.
  • Other activities may occasionally include walking, climbing, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
