Warehouse Fulfillment Tech

The primary duties of the Warehouse Fulfillment Tech focus on the preparation and shipping of customer orders, which includes locating and pulling product off shelves, verifying orders, and shipping packages, which requires computer input to ensure that orders are shipped accurately and on time. The Fulfillment Tech works under the direction of the Fulfillment Lead and is also responsible for carrying out periodic inventory checks and other duties as assigned. Success in this position requires an attention to detail, the ability to learn quickly and to perform quality work consistently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter shipping data into a computer system to process orders cleared for fulfillment.
  • Provide the Sales team with consistent and timely information regarding order status, shipping dates, and product availability.
  • Consistently perform all phases of order fulfillment with accuracy; including product staging, packaging, labeling and process quality control to prevent damage, freight loss and delivery discrepancies.
  • Quickly learn, follow and consistently perform the order pick list procedure.
  • Effectively and appropriately exchange information with the Production, Packing, Purchasing, Accounting and fellow warehouse staff on a daily basis.
  • Learn to accurately enter information into a computer-based system and prepare basic reports as needed.
  • Support fellow department team members with projects and other task assignments.
  • Acknowledge and respond promptly to needs and inquiries from customers and management.
  • Be a team player and contribute your observations and suggestions in effort to help improve fulfillment department processes.
  • Respect and comply with all company rules, policies and procedures on a consistent basis.
  • Do your part to help ensure that your work area is always kept clean.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and two years of increasingly responsibility and experience in a dynamic manufacturer/fulfillment warehouse facility.
  • Good working knowledge of email, freight logistics and inventory shipping and receiving software.
  • Product warehousing and fulfillment best practices, including shipping, receiving, inventory, documentation, data handling, reporting and work quality control procedures.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with fellow staff and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and while providing quality customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion according to the instructions given and standards set by the department and its supervisors.
  • Forklift certification, knowledge of best safety practices for all phases of the fulfillment process.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder and stairs
  • Must be able to stoop, crawl, kneel and maneuver around parts and equipment
