Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal’s prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing."  Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

The Venue Technology Technician is responsible for providing Audio/Visual, Infrastructure and Communications oversight for Daytona International Speedway.  This position works within the DIS Operations team, NASCAR IT, and DIS & NASCAR project management team on implementation and maintenance of technology systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine technical requirements of event productions or projects, coordinate logistics and activities of production personnel.

  • Manage and maintain venue show operations systems to ensure proper functioning.

  • Assist the Event Operations team as need to support events.

  • Ability to draw detailed or technical illustrations, source selection support, contract management oversight, document updates, staff meetings, other action items as directed.

  • Technical proposal writing/review, briefing reviews, coordination of meetings, on-site support, troubleshooting support.

  • Identify opportunities for new capabilities, vendor interfaces to technical and senior staff.

  • Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Audio – Knowledge of audio over network systems.

  • Video - QAM and IPTV infrastructure, Video Distribution Systems, Lighting Controls, Digital Signage, and Video Boards.

  • Engineering and Technology — Applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, test equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

  • Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.

  • Telecommunications — Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.

  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems — analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

  • Updating and Relevant Knowledge — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
