Tyre Performance Analysis Engineer

Extracting maximum performance from the tyres is one of the key elements of being successful in Formula 1 and is the primary objective of the Tyre Performance Analysis Engineer. You will be working with other members of the tyre group to analyse the tyre performance and develop methods and processes to improve this analysis.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced engineer who approaches problems with a rigorous, analytical approach whilst being capable of performing in the high-pressure environment of a race weekend. 

You will need to be able to use your own initiative, work proactively and often to strict timelines, collaborating across many groups and departments in the engineering office.

The Role:

As a member of the tyre group, you will be responsible for:

  • Analysis of track data to assess the tyre performance accurately and quickly to strict deadlines during race and test events.
  • Developing the methods and processes used for the tyre performance analysis.
  • Guiding and mentoring the Tyre Analysis Intern to get the best performance out of their role
  • There may be some limited opportunities for travel to support test or race events as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to a high level in Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience in tyre and performance analysis, preferably in F1
  • Extensive knowledge of tyre and vehicle dynamics
  • Experienced using MATLAB or a similar programming language
