Our background and your main purpose...

Ruroc exists to make helmets cool. We believe that re-engineering protection with the perfect balance of art and science will make people want to wear our helmets, making them safer and meaning they live longer (and cooler!). In 2019, we had our first £1m turnover day and in 2020 we had our first £1m turnover hour. Ruroc has grown from £1m rev to a £20m+ revenue Action / MotorSports helmet brand selling into over 90 countries globally from its single distribution centre in Gloucester and we're now in an excellent position to build further growth.

All sales take place through Ruroc’s eCommerce store www.ruroc.com giving Ruroc a direct connection to its customers that legacy / competitor brands do not possess. This close connection to the end rider has given us the ability to rapidly innovate and enhance our gear at a rate never before seen in the Global helmet industry.

We control our destiny; we manage everything end-to-end to deliver our promise to customers and fulfil the potential of the Ruroc Brand. We are building a world-class team of Product, Brand, Marketing, Customer, Operations, Tech, Finance and Talent/HR people.

Your purpose is to own the numbers, obsess about increasing net revenues, average order size and value, conversion rate of traffic to customers and customer experience through intimate knowledge and process of reducing exits/bounces from our home, category, landing, basket and checkout pages. You’ll own the visual merchandising of your stores and should try to make them more local, relevant and engaging for our target audience and customers in each territory or product categories (currently Snow & Moto).

Main Accountabilities...

  • Own the net revenue, average order size, value, conversion rate for your sites
  • Own all visual merchandising of your stores from products to signposting and engaging content that makes a sale today;
  • Own the analytical and CRO tools that will help you unlock greater insight to build hypothesis to test and generate incremental output on your KPIs;
  • Support and Challenge the Technology team to design, develop and deploy the tools you need to deliver your objectives;
  • Work closely with the Campaign team and feed in tactical, irresistible offers / promotions into the Ruroc campaign calendar;
  • Work closely with the Media (Acquisition) team to align on activity; you need them to deliver high volume of high quality traffic to hit your objectives;
  • Work closely with Commercial / Finance Analyst/s to unlock Customer Insight (through deep segmentation), Marketing Insight and Business Insight which leads to optimisation of your activity;
  • Monitor retention / loyalty / VIP / community activity with the support of the Customer team of Ruroc and other organisations to spot trends and innovation which may affect Ruroc’s trading activity;
  • Hire, lead and coach a leading-edge team to help execute against goals;
  • Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practice, with CRO focus;
  • Keep up to date with eCommerce & CRO / Trading best practice of tomorrow through training, research etc;
  • Positively impact and influence internal stakeholders and external partners;
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Product, Brand, Marketing, Trading, Operations, Tech, Insight and Finance teams;
  • Think like a customer, all day, every day.

Requirements

This role is for you if:

KEY SKILLS

  • Have a good understanding of retail, eCommerce and marketing businesses.
  • CRO methodology at the heart of everything you do.
  • Have a proven track record as a commercial individual, who understands brand and customer (shopper).
  • Intellectual and emotional intelligence in balanced / equal measure.
  • Understand how to maximise output in conversion activity where a mix of skill / talent types is required (data analysis vs creative visual merchandising and UX are quite different approaches).
  • Are a ‘subjective’ thinker in terms of ideas, following your instinct, but you’ll be used to using internal/external data to underpin your ideas with confidence.
  • You are independent and self-directed but able to work and lead a team of creative individuals.
  • Have superior analytical skills to track and manage performance.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuasively sell ideas.
  • A quick learner who can process lots of information and prioritise action .
  • Effectively navigate and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Are an outcomes focused manager, with strong team orientation.
  • Are bullish about Ruroc and its potential.

EXPERIENCE

You have...

  • Leading edge understanding of digital retail / eCommerce; a ‘natural shop keeper’; fixated on delivering your promise to the customer.
  • Great knowledge / experience with Analytical / CRO tools like Google Analytics , HotJar etc
  • Great knowledge of Magento / Shopify+ and common 3rd party applications (Nosto, etc)

You might have…

  • HTML / Coding experience
  • Multi-language skills.
  • Experience in snow, moto or sporting products / purchased Ruroc or similar products, you’re a customer / love skiing, snowboarding and/or motorcycling.
  • Global experience (USA, Europe)
