Trackside Aerodynamicist

For our team in Greding (D-91171) we are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Trackside Aerodynamicist for improving on-track performance of the race car and defining the aerodynamic development direction.

To be filled: With immediate effect

Tasks:

  • Monitor and analyze aerodynamic data on the race car
  • Define aerodynamic car setup and track test items
  • Set development goals based on track observations
  • Conduct full car CFD simulations
  • Improve aerodynamic correlation between CFD, track and wind tunnel
  • Build and maintain a multi-dimensional aero model
  • Define car instrumentation for aerodynamic measurements
  • Develop and improve tools and processes for efficient data analysis
  • Summarize and report observations

Requirements:

  • University degree (TU / FH / TH) in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering / Automotive Engineering or equivalent fields
  • Motorsport experience
  • Profound knowledge of race car aerodynamics
  • Good data interpretation and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of CFD techniques and analysis
  • Experience with MoTeC i2 Pro and coding skills (Python/Matlab) is an advantage
  • Ability to make decisions within a pressurized environment
  • Ability to successfully work in a team and independently
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Willingness to travel
