Track Official

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the track and pit lane area (cleaning, inspecting, and repairing the racing surface and safety systems)
  • Maintaining karts and race equipment (cleaning, inspecting, and organizing helmets and neck braces, cleaning and inspecting karts)
  • Prepping karts (pull-starting motors, checking tire pressures, checking motor oil)
  • Prepping races (collecting and validating heat tickets, inspecting and validating customer’s safety equipment (helmets and neck braces properly sized and secured), seating customers and properly adjusting the seats and pedals, ensuring seatbelts are properly fastened)
  • Flagging races (issuing caution, passing, and black flags as appropriate)
  • Ensuring customer safety to the degree possible
  • Clearing accidents
  • Respectfully following management instructions
  • Effectively communicating with management

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older as of the employee’s start date
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to communicate clearly with customers and staff members in English
  • Capable of performing the physical aspects of the job, including lifting up to 100 pounds, bending and twisting, standing for long periods of time, pull-starting a go-kart, pushing a go-kart, and entering and exiting the track area safely
  • Able and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
