Test Technician

  • Laboratory Test Technician responsible for conducting performance and durability testing of automotive HVAC and cooling components.
  • Test set up of automotive HVAC systems, modules, heat exchangers or sub-components such as blowers and actuators in order to perform performance measurements or durability life cycle testing.
  • Understands the principles of a refrigeration cycle and the function of all the components and be proficient in diagnosing refrigerant system issues.
  • Installation of instrumentation and equipment to monitor the test parameters including measurementsof temperature, pressure and flow.
  • Interface with computer based electronic test systems.
  • Understand and execute tests efficiently and correctly.
  • Observes consistency in test data, interprets results and report irregularities to test engineer.
  • Diagnose and resolve test component or bench issues, perform basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Take direction from test area supervisor for daily assignments.

  • College degree in a related mechanical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, experience and technical training.
  • AAS Mechanical Technology or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive technician
  • ASE Certification desired
  • EPA Section 608 Certification desired
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Effective communication skills
