Technical Specialist - Thermal Engineer

 

The Thermal System Architect will be final authority for releasing components to the vehicle. The Thermal Architect will work closely with all internal and external suppliers and groups to ensure a successful product launch.

  • Develop Architecture of Vehicle Thermal System for multiple vehicle platforms
  • Gather requirements from sub-system owners and decompose into the component level requirements
  • Understand all technical and regulatory requirements for each component
  • Responsible for interpreting and defining vehicle level climate control targets and cascading requirements to subsystem and component level teams on multiple programs
  • Work with design team or external supplier to ensure the component meets all requirements
  • Work with test and validation group to ensure the component meets all requirements
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure final product complies with all company objectives
  • Manage budget and schedule of components to ensure compliance to overall company goals
  • Understand technical details of component
  • Lead system level DFMEA and supplier component level DFMEA.
  • Support PFMEA
  • Support troubleshooting during the test and validation phase
  • Support manufacturing in build of Gamma and Production vehicles
  • Execute cost reduction activitities
  • Benchmarking

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in automotive
  • Education/experience with emphasis in automotive thermal management system
  • Design Release experience of automotive component through production
  • Proven knowledge + expertise, and passion for automotive thermal system
  • 1D Analysis Capability
  • CATIA experience preferred
  • Top-notch communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with supply chain, quality engineering

  • Proven expertise with working in team environment
  • Ability to coordinate and/or perform basic lab testing
  • A diverse skillset including program management,
  • A wide range of experience with DFMEA, PFMEA
