Function:
- Report to Vice President Technical Operations
- Coordinate the technical inspection of vehicles at select NHRA Divisional events
- Provide technical inspection support at NHRA National events
- Work directly with race teams, manufacturers and other members of the NHRA Technical Department in the following tasks: acceptance of new components, development of new rules and requirements and the generation and evaluation of performance data
- Perform chassis inspections as needed
- Help manage the data produced during National events
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the resolution of technical issues as needed
- Support racers questions via email and phone
- Monitor and maintain performance data
- Perform chassis inspections
- Support technical inspection of various classes at National events as a member of the National technical inspection staff
- Thoroughly inspect confiscated parts in a laboratory environment as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have a strong understanding of automobiles and their various components
- Experience working in the motorsports industry desired but not mandatory
- Must be proficient with personal computers and all Microsoft Office applications
- Must be proficient in written and oral communication
- Must be able to travel extensively and work 25 weekends a year
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work long hours outside and at times in extreme weather
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
