Team and Logistics Manager

The Team and Logistics Manager is a highly valuable role in our clients organisation. Reporting directly to the Motorsport Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the Race Team’s contribution to the technical and commercial development of the company, by growing the professionalism and quality of its delivery and support.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Team and Logistics Manager will:

  • Be responsible in supporting the annual and long-term business plan for a profitable mix of on-event customer support, in-house maintenance, and repair work
  • Lead/oversee both on the shop floor and race weekends ensuring car preparation and maintenance is completed to the highest standard
  • Mentor, coach and train junior staff / apprentices with support and development planning
  • Have budget management responsibility
  • Plan, manage and forward structure pre-race car events including, customer track and race support, used car prep for sale, warranty work and aftersales car rectification
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing, Production, Development and Race Coordination teams
  • Be accountable for all H&S and training matters of the team, in line with company processes and procedures at track, truck loads, or at the workshop
  • Have responsible for overseeing the transport/logistic function

To be considered for this you role you will be able to demonstrate

  • Experience working for a motorsport and / or automotive manufacturer
  • Experience in a Technical Management position
  • Knowledge of building race cars
  • Strong track record of managing a range of personalities and skill levels
  • Effective organisation skills and be a self-starter; able to manage events and commitments effectively
  • Confidence in reporting back to senior staff and board-level management
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A commercial mind and have experience in production logistics and planning, scheduling, maintaining accurate stock records and creating analysis reports

Highly beneficial would be

  • Experience of motorsport/sportscar engineering
  • Transport and haulage knowledge
  • Having held the position of number one mechanic

*Please note that an integral part of the role includes team management on race events so weekend and overseas work will be required. 

My client are offering a salary of up to £40,000 per annum for this position along with pension, 28 days holiday (including b/hols).
