Purpose of the Role:
Suspension design and development projects for F1 Race cars.
Principal responsibilities:
- Conceptual and detail design of suspension components and systems, including driver controls, on an F1 Racing Car.
- Project ownership from conceptual phase through to track sign off.
- Fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Performance monitoring and trackside support.
- Liaison with Race Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics to understand system performance and development direction.
- When required, to assist in design work related to chassis, bodywork and transmission components.
- Design of jig and tooling components for manufacture and testing of components.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or similar.
- Good knowledge of racing car components and systems.
- Excellent knowledge of composite and metallic materials and manufacturing techniques.
- High Level of Proficiency in CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working within F1 or a similar environment.
- Proven experience in the design of suspension systems.
