Supply Chain Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join our Manufacturing & Logistics team based in Dunsfold, Surrey in a permanent role.

Principal Accountabilities:

The Key accountabilities of the Manufacturing & Logistics department within Gordon Murray Automotive is to deliver customer vehicles whilst maintaining the highest quality standards, timing, cost and driving operational excellence.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal part in the company’s rapid expansion in this hands-on management role.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing & Logistics, you will oversee and manage every stage of the production flow, from purchasing materials to the delivery of the final product. You will work closely with the team to resolve supply chain issues to ensure the process is optimised, ultimately guaranteeing our customers are satisfied with the end product.

You and the team will be responsible for:

  • Providing effective daily business operation of the supply chain
  • Leading GMAs planning and materials function
  • Organising and controlling logistics activities for GMA
  • Strategic planning to ensure seamless procurement of parts is achieved
  • Coordinating a team and their tasks to optimise production
  • Create and oversee logistics processes – on target in terms of budget, time and quality
  • To effectively measure, control, manage and report on team progress
  • Implement new procedures and ensure staff follow best practice and strive to continually improve
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as the Head of
  • Manufacturing & Logistics, to optimise productivity of staff
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand demand planning and forecasting for current and future projects
  • Line manage staff performance, encourage and mentor staff to drive performance forward
  • You will be fully accountable for ensuring the safety of your team, ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Highlight any deficiencies and recommend positive change such as training, working practices or processes. Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders such as the Head of Manufacturing & Logistics to implement this

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience in a production environment such as engineering, automotive aerospace or similar would be very useful. Experience with MRP systems is also important. You will enjoy setting and establishing new systems and processes.

  • Operations/Supply Chain Experience in Supply Chain and Management & Planning

  • Experience in Automotive Manufacturing

  • Strong Leadership, verbal and written communication skills

  • Line management experience

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Data Analysis and reporting

  • Calm under pressure, able to motivate and mentor staff
