Supplier Quality Engineer – Electrical (GMA063)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer – Electrical to join our Quality (Electrical, Interior, Chassis, Powertrain) Team based in Dunsfold, Surrey.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete the supplier quality activity throughout the process from concept through to production

  • Responsible for successful on time delivery of components that achieve the design specification

  • Responsible for quality manufacturing activity with supplier and identification of critical and significant characteristics and ensure that these are identified correctly in the supplier

  • Be on site at supplier as required to ensure supply of parts to specification internal customers

  • Maintain the PPAP tracker and communicate status of PPAP to the senior engineer

  • Responsible for approving first article inspections by supplier

  • Define Component Quality Plan with supplier

  • Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards

  • Manage root cause analysis and corrective actions of quality issues and perform verification of corrective actions at supplier within the contracted time scales using 8D and CAR methodology

  • Support DFM activity with engineering & supplier

  • Manage engineering change sign off

  • Manage supplier PCN activity

  • Escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues to the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for suppliers (PPM, etc)

  • In conjunction with the Engineering, Logistics and Procurement functions, assist in resolving issues and general queries regarding supplier quality issues

  • Conduct supplier audits and support nomination activity

  • Support & develop supplier & supplier process maturation

  • Management of supplier quality concerns and concessions in agreed time scales to enable parts to be supplied to maintain build

  • Feedback any concerns raised to supplier in a timely manner to allow analysis to begin

  • Support supplier charge back activity

  • Support supplier contract activity regarding quality clauses

  • Collection of evidence of supplier quality certification (ISO 9001, IATF16949)

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree or Equivalent experience in Electrical focussed supplier Quality Role

  • Experience of working in automotive/Equivalent OEM or supplier and proven record of meeting demands of the customers
