Gordon Murray Design Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for a Studio Engineer to join our Styling team based in Shalford, Surrey.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Creative Design Director, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that the vehicle interior and exterior styling continues to be developed and matured from a technical and creative design perspective. To provide support to Gordon Murray styling team for the company to deliver Gordon Murray Group projects in a professional, cost effective and timely manner.
The key elements of the Styling function are to ensure that the vehicle styling is developed and matured, at the same time aligned with engineering requirements to allow ‘Start of Production’ to commence successfully. This role is expected to work with GMD engineering and other teams to achieve optimum vehicle styling. The person filling the role will be the Link between Styling team and Engineering as well as other teams within the company.
Given the nature of the responsibilities detailed in this document, this person also needs to be a good communicator and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and CATIA/CATIA viewer. This individual also needs to be well organised, analytical and have a keen eye for detail. Self-motivated individual capable of using their own initiative as well as meeting tight deadlines as part of a team. A strong team player, supportive to the styling team, positive and believes in synergy.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Extensive programme engineering/management experience in automotive projects, including PPAP, PSW and Control Plans.
- Extensive knowledge of styling and engineering design techniques and processes including some fundamental manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of / ability to use CATIA / CATIA viewer or equivalent.
