Stress Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join and strenghten our Structural Analysis Team as Racing Point makes the transition to Aston Martin F1 in 2021.

You will be responsible for structural analysis of components and assemblies (metallic and composite), using finite element methods and hand calculations, to find the most mass-efficient solutions. This role will be involved in a wide variety of analysis project to support our whole design team in delivering optimum solutions to the track.

The successful applicant will possess and Engineering Degree (min 2:1 grade) or equivalent and ideally have experience working within a structural analysis team, in an Automotive or similar field. A good understanding of analysis of composites and metallic materials using a mixture of FEA and hand calculations is expected, along with a strong working knowledge of Altair HyperWorks and Catia V5/V6 (or similar).

You may additionally have experience of wider analysis concepts, such as design optimisation and non-linear analyses (contact, etc).

This is an opportunity to join a group central to maintaining the structural integrity of the F1 car, whilst pushing the limits of what is possible with the available materials and techniques, all within a challeneging timeframe.
