The Sahara Force India Formula One team is looking for a Strategy Engineer to join our Race Engineering department. This predominantly factory based role will support all members of the department, in particular the Senior Strategy Engineer.
The successful candidate will assist in pre-event preparation, factory support during events and post event analysis. As part of the Strategy team, you will provide support from the factory Mission Control room.
You must be a strong team player, with clear and precise communication skills, diplomacy and tenacity. The confidence and ability to make quick, data-driven decisions under extremely tight deadlines is also essential for this role.
The candidate will also be involved in developing the tools used to optimise strategy and the car operation; this will require significant data analysis and the development of new analysis methodologies, software tools and techniques.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous strategy experience, and/or having worked within a Formula 1 engineering environment.
An excellent degree in engineering or a related discipline, strong problem solving and mathematical skills are essential for this role. The ability to work with minimal supervision is a prerequisite, as is the capacity to report complex technical information clearly, professionally and within tight deadlines.
Experience of data analysis is essential, preferably with ATLAS. This role will require significant Matlab and VBA programming so experience in these two is essential. You must also be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
