JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller

JOB STATEMENT

Position is responsible for assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing the day- to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis;
  • Routine communication with Supervisors relating to financial close, issues and deliverables;
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close;
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations;
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of the periodic management reporting of financial metrics;
  • Prepare all Financial Reporting requirements package;
  • Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules;
  • Prepare journal entries related to assigned functional responsibilities;
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance;
  • Cross train as back-ups for other staff in the case of emergencies;
  • Review and research accounting transactions to correct errors;
  • Responsible for the complex aspects of Accounts Receivable, from set-ups, generation of all daily invoicing, cash application, account openings and closing audits, to billing related special projects;
  • Work in collaboration with customers to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and solving billing related issues;
  • Serve as a key liaison between billing, SOX, internal and external auditors, and other operational areas to provide analytical and procedural expertise;
  • Communicate and escalate issues to Management Team as required;
  • Maintain policies and procedures and utilize best practices;
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of work related accidents and provide feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions. .

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Minimum of two (2+) years of FP&A experience.

  • Detailed-oriented, team player with an analytical mind, and good problem-solving capabilities;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Good time management, ability to multi-task, prioritize work and provide timely feed-back to management;

  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines;
  • Strong mathematical skills, proficient with Excel.
