Software Product Support Manager

Pratt Miller is looking for a Software Product Support Manager to join its Motorsports business unit as part of the Motorsports Technology Group. This role will work across our motorsports programs (IMSA, Corvette, NASCAR, IndyCar) to develop advanced software tools, database environments, and processes to advance Pratt Miller’s competitive advantage. This role will lead a team of other database and support engineers in advancing the current Pratt Miller toolset and building innovative solutions for emerging technical topics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management

  • Lead a small team of database engineers, software developers, and support experts to maintain and deploy current software tools along with development of new innovative tools to extend the Pratt Miller competitive advantage
  • Work with internal and external clients to ensure the issues and needs are tracked and escalated accordingly
  • Provide technical leadership and experience in all aspects of Software Product Support
  • Participate in development of the Motorsports Business Unit “Road Map” which guides development priorities
  • Participate in meetings to support the Motorsports Technology Group and any active projects

Technical

  • Provide technical expertise for maintaining, enhancing, and developing Pratt Miller Software Products
  • Work with the Motorsports Technology Group members and the Software Engineering Developers to create tools and workflows to improve the efficiency and decision-making power of the race engineers

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:

  • Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development as necessary
  • Provide feedback on product needs and processes

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Desired Background, knowledge, and Skills:

  • 3+ years programming experience (.Net (C#/VB))
  • 3+ years scripting experience (Power shell, batch, VB, etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft OS (Best practices – UAC, Firewall (Rules/Exceptions))
  • In depth knowledge of networking (Communication protocols, setup, and troubleshooting)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for application and software support
  • Automation/Monitoring (Jenkins, Ansible, 3rd Party (Status Cake, Nagios, etc.))
  • Azure/AWS experience (CLI/API scripting, Monitoring)
  • Senior DB Developer
    • In depth TSQL knowledge
      • CTEs, Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Views, etc.
      • Ability to fix without a full re-write – Must be able to read complex procedures and understand other people’s code
    • Tuning (Index and Procedures)
  • Senior DB Administrator
    • System configuration
    • Replication setup - Transaction or Merge replication experience preferred
    • Jobs/Notifications/Monitoring
    • Security – SaaS model experience preferred
  • BS (MS Preferred) in an applicable field

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Stress may occur periodically
  • Long hours may be required at times
  • Limited travel may be required
