Software Engineer (Summer Placement)

The position:

Aerodynamic development is fundamental to our on-track performance and having the right tools for the job is critical. We are seeking talented young engineers to join our Aerodynamics Software group to assist in building the next generation of software capability, using cutting edge development technologies and techniques.

You will be a member of a team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting the suite of software tools used throughout the Aerodynamics department. Your work will directly influence the capability of the team to make faster decisions, which ultimately put more performance on our race car.

Enthusiasm and an appetite to learn is key to this role. You will be exposed to a wide variety of technologies and software engineering concepts and will be expected to pick these up quickly and apply them to your work.

Understanding of some of the following key concepts would be highly beneficial:

• Object oriented programming
• Data storage / database technologies
• Source control systems
• Software testing approaches

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the software team to design, develop, and implement all aspects of innovative application development using agile principles and working practices.
• Liaising with key stakeholders to define and develop solutions to business problems.
• Implement appropriate testing and quality assurance.

This is an excellent opportunity to get exposure to software development in a fast-moving environment within this dynamic and progressive team.

Students that are shortlisted will be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre. The virtual assessment days are scheduled to take place in May.
