The Social Media Manager will be working for the Traxion.gg brand – delivering a community hub for gamers as well as world-class esports events. Traxion is a young and upcoming brand and is growing its presence in the digital landscape. We set out to become an authoritative and authentic voice in the gaming and Esports industries, and we are continually looking to grow our team as well as our audience, as we set out to entertain, inform and engage with our community across a wide range of channels. 

The new recruit will be hard-working and driven to succeed, as they will be integral to developing Traxion’s social media strategy and identity. Responsibilities

  • You will work with a small, passionate, welcoming team 
  • Help build an inclusive community of racing game and Esports fans across all platforms 
  • Manage the social media strategy and calendar, working in close collaboration with the wider business 
  • Design and implement social media content plans an campaigns around key titles and events 
  • Identify cultural trends across all platforms and engage / create content that is topical and relevant 
  • Provide engaging and accurate written copy and graphics for every post we produce, tagging the correct accounts and using the best hashtags, and analysing the content before writing copy 
  • Managing and working on award-winning Esports events such as Le Mans Virtual Series, INDYCAR, ESDA Drifting and Formula Pro 
  • Assist in monitoring, moderating and reporting all public communication channels including social media, YouTube and Discord 
  • Liaise with editorial and video teams to ensure timely promotion on relevant channels 
  • Work with our stream team to increase the relationship between Twitch and our other channels with timely clips and content 
  • Schedule, monitor and clip live streams on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook for Esports, Live Streams, and Stream Team broadcasts 
  • Identify opportunities for Traxion to collaborate with other social media outlets and influencers who can share material or produce original content 
  • Help the wider team deliver on any commercial agreements by supporting requirements on social media. Help identify opportunities for additional commercial revenue streams 
  • Flexibility in working hours and days (A few hours per weekend and sometimes a couple hours at night) 

Requirements

  • Motorsport, racing games and/or sim racing enthusiast 
  • Managed brand social media accounts or community roles previously 
  • Experience of creating engaging social media content and delivering successful campaigns 
  • Outstanding creativity and desire to make great content 
  • Strong written skills and command of the English language 
  • Passionate about social media and have a strong understanding of a wide range of social and marketing mediums, including – Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Wordpress, Discord and YouTube 
  • Knowledge of basic video editing and live stream clipping 
  • Have a good working ethic, good humour and communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external 
  • Good internet connection – download and upload 

 

Desirable 

  • Previous experience or communications, marketing, journalism, media or similar degree 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe suite video/photo editing for asset creation 
  • Experience of working within a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines 
  • Experience of live events and understanding of live broadcast streaming across Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. 
  • Computer capable of editing and rendering videos
