Small Engine Mechanic (Karting)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Kart Shop Mechanic position consists of constant teamwork and communication. Responsible for making sure all rental and racing karts are regularly maintained, repaired and safe to operate while ensuring superior service to our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a clean and safe work place.
  • On a daily basis, check the oil and tire pressure on the rental karts before the kart center opens to the public.
  • Perform work on karts, in regards to repairing, cleaning and/or general servicing.
  • Prep karts for league days.
  • Clubspeed Garage record keeping for all work performed on rental fleet.
  • Adheres to work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives.
  • Record and maintain service hours of karts.
  • Test drive repaired karts to certify that everything is in safe working order before kart is turned over to customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Work Environment
This job performs mainly in an indoor setting. Need to have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions in an outdoor setting when needed and stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 150 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Sunday during business hours with
6 to 8 hour shifts. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED diploma
  • 1 to 2 years mechanical experience.

Preferred Experience

  • 1 to 2 years experience in small engine repair.
