SIMULATOR PERFORMANCE ENGINEER

We have an exciting opportunity for a Simulator Performance Engineer to join our Vehicle Performance Group.

In this role, you would be expected to develop and deliver analysis techniques and direction to determine optimum vehicle performance using offline vehicle dynamic tools and the driver-in-the-loop simulator. Whilst this role is working from the factory base, a large part of this role would be supporting Trackside Engineers before, during and after race events, through simulations and analysis.

The successful candidate will validate simulator output with track data and compare car characteristics of the Simulator and Race Car using objective and quantifiable metrics. You will also be expected to define and organise experiments and run plans to execute simulator test requests and provide detailed analysis and reporting of the results.

Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for someone with a strong academic background with a Masters degree or PhD in a Mechanical/Automotive/Aeronautical Engineering, a strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and a strong working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required as well as an eye for detail. As with all of our roles, we will also be looking for a candidate who has relevant experience in a similar role and is used to working in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment.

Closing date for application is 30 September 2019.
