SIMULATION ENGINEERS

Ilmor Engineering are recruiting for current projects and future Initiatives.  We have a successful track record in the technologically advanced design, manufacture, and production of race engines at the very highest levels of motorsport.   With Electric, Hybrid and IC Engine projects spanning the Racing, Automotive and Marine sectors, we have diverse opportunities within our Engineering Departments.

As a Simulation Engineer at Ilmor you will be working on CFD simulation of in-cylinder flows and combustion in a variety of racing and other high performance non-racing engine projects.

 

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • At least three years post graduate experience in the field of engine design
  • A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and IC engine systems
  • Knowledge of gasoline direct injection combustion systems
  • Experience in carrying out steady-state and transient CFD simulation of engine components (preferably using Converge)
  • Experience in 1D engine simulation (ideally using GT-Suite)
  • An ability to manipulate 3D CAD and extract geometry for simulation models (Knowledge of Catia V5 will be advantageous)
  • Data post-processing and ability to report findings in a clear and succinct manner
