Simulation Engineer

Working within a busy NASCAR engineering team you will be responsible for the development, testing and maintenance of software toolsets to support an in-house vehicle simulation program.  We are looking for and individual who has the vision to combine and analyze information from a variety of sources with software tools in order to help the team make better decisions to maximize performance.  In addition to having well developed programming skills, it is essential that you are an effective communicator.  The development of effective and efficient toolsets will require interaction with race engineers and race support staff to understand their needs and workflows. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a part of a small development team you will typically be responsible for the entirety of a software project from concept, to coding, release and maintenance.
  • Perform unit testing and user-based evaluations of software tools.
  • Interface with third party applications.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with race engineering and race staff, understanding their problems and workflows and how to make them more efficient.

Qualifications

  • .NET, C#, WPF. 
  • Unit Testing.
  • Source control, TFS and GIT
  • SQL experience desired.
  • Java script experience would be beneficial.
  • Matlab experience desired.
  • Modellica/Dymola experience would be beneficial.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Physics or Engineering (with experience in software development) is required.
  • Must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Must be able to respond to rapid development cycles.
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with all levels of a large team structure.

Working Conditions

Professional office setting; Dress code is business casual. Normal business hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
